Annabelle is two years old and lives in Boise, Idaho. She has been diagnosed with MPS III Sanfilippo Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder which makes Annabelle’s body unable to produce a specific enzyme that breaks down complex carbohydrates. This causes molecular waste to build up in every cell of her body, producing many terrible symptoms including mental retardation, loss of speech, hearing, sight, movement and eventually death around the age of puberty.
